Samphire Eggs
We are based near Capel in the South West of Western Australia and supply fertilized eggs to the local community from our family owned farm. Our flock consists soley of laying breeds and includes heritage hybrids as well as the heritage Cream Legbar.
Our heritage hybrids combine the hardiness, longevity, and foraging ability of traditional heritage breeds with modern production selection for higher egg output. This gives you:
- Longer productive lifespans (3-5 years vs 1-2 years for pure commercial breeds)
- Better adaptation to free-range and pastured systems
- Superior health and disease resistance
- Strong production while maintaining welfare standards
- Lower replacement costs over time
Each egg is checked for cleanliness, shape, size and freshness.
- We accept some discoloration on the egg as not critical to a successfull hatch.
- The shape of the egg needs to be "egg shaped" to facilitate the natural process of the unborn chick turning within the egg shell.
- The minimum weight of each egg is 59 grams with the exception of the Blue and Splash Australorp eggs (at least 55 grams).
- Eggs offered for sale are no more than two weeks old from the time they were laid.
