Samphire Eggs

We are based near Capel in the south west of Western Australia and supply fertilized eggs to the local community from our family owned farm.

We meet customers in Capel by arrangement most days at 10am or 4pm. The meeting place is the low stone wall of the park directly opposite the Capel Post Office. If it's raining we'll meet under the awning of the Post Office.

Each egg is checked for cleanliness, shape, size and freshness.

  1. We accept some discoloration on the egg as not critical to a successfull hatch.
  2. The shape of the egg needs to be "egg shaped" to facilitate the natural process of the unborn chick turning within the egg shell.
  3. Except for the smaller eggs produced the Cream Legbars, eggs weigh 59 grams or more.
  4. Eggs offered for sale are no more than two weeks old from the time they were laid.

We cannnot gurantee a particular hatch rate but we know that our eggs are fertilized and that we've done our best to ensure that you have a successful hatch with the eggs we supply. We expect a hatch rate of 60-70% but there are factors out of our control (such as the quality of incubators) that are going to have an impact. Having said that, we want to keep our customers happy, have our customers return to us for their future fertilized eggs and to refer others to us. If your hatch rate is significantly lower than 60-70%, we will work with you to supply replacement eggs or a full or part refund.
