Easter Egger

Easter Eggers eggs are cream coloured and are famous for laying a spectrum of pastel-colored eggs due to their mixed genetics.

Our Easter Egger eggs are produced from a specific cross between one of our commercial parent layer lines and a male line carrying a variable blue egg gene. This cross produces feather-sexable chicks that mature into hens capable of laying a beautiful assortment of egg colors, including green, blue, white, pink, and, on very rare occasions, purple. The females have a long double feather while for the males, all the feathers are short.

Common Easter Egger Shell Colors:

• Pale Blue to Turquoise: A soft sky blue or robin's egg blue tint.
• Sage & Olive Green: Ranging from light mint green to deep, rich olive.
• Soft Pink & Rose: Light beige or tan shells covered in a bloom that gives them a muted pinkish sheen.
• Cream & Buff: Warm ivory or light golden-brown hues.

Key Facts About Egg Color:

• One Bird, One Color: An individual Easter Egger hen will lay the exact same color egg throughout her entire life. To get a rainbow basket of eggs, you need a flock composed of multiple hens.
• Pigment Depth: Blue pigment goes all the way through the shell (making the inside blue too), while brown pigment is layered only on the outside, creating green when blue and brown overlap.
